Indiana Immunization Coalition is a non-for-profit organization whose mission is to reduce the spread of vaccine preventable dieseases through immunization and community partnerships.
Respondsibilites
My respondsibilites as a clinical intern is to help pre-register individuals at clinics to be vaccinated. This includes checking their insurance status, CHIRP record and creating appointments through VaxCare.

Professional Development
Some skills I acquired during this experience are informational marketing, improved email etiquette, understanding state/county legislators or representatives' impact on bills, and understanding vaccine series. Specific contributions I made in my role are creating informative marketing posters that displayed information about Indiana vaccine rates, certain county rates, and vaccine recommendations. A couple of areas in need of growth for me are stress management and interpersonal communication.
Academic Connections
Course: Health Policy
Health Policy helped prepare me for my internship role by familiarizing me with the implementation of health policy at local and state level. Also how public health data and healthcare delivery influences healthcare decisions and policies. I recall this knowledge when making posters to know what statistics are most impactful.
Course: Career Prep
Career Prep provided me with the most valuable tools to have good professionalism as an intern. By preparing me with mock interviews, resume reviews, and giving professional tips.
